*Some knowledge on format
Formatting a disk involves three steps:
Low-level formatting, which is closest to the hardware, marks the surfaces of the disks with markers indicating the start of a recording block. Low-level format is completed in factory and therefore has nothing to do with end users.
Partitioning created data structures needed by the operating system. Also called intermediate-level format, it checks defective tracks and sectors on hard disk.
High-level formatting is what we refer to in data recovery technology. The process creates the file system format with the structure created in Partitioning. After high-level format, all files are deleted, all space is marked as free, but the data remains on the disk.
